The one thing you need to send to salon clients this holiday season

Hey beauty biz pals - happy holidays!

You’re probably at the height of holiday craziness right now, juggling an insane schedule (and you’ve probably taken on overtime too, right?) while desperately trying to have a life outside of work….AHHH the holidays!

Listen, I hear you. I know it’s a nutso time. And I also know that your marketing, social media posting, and promoting are probably falling a bit behind too.

You might feel like you don’t really need the extra push right now, because you’ve got so much to do. Advertising just doesn’t feel like a priority.

Okay, fair enough...but what if I told you that you could send just one email that would perfectly wrap up 2022, ensure lots of extra bookings for the New Year (to get you through that inevitable slump in business in the colder months), and make your email list really happy?

Sound great?

Today I’m gonna share exactly what to put in this “End of 2023” email to your clients to connect, warm hearts, and provide a few little goodies!

If you’re a hairstylist, booth renter, nail artist, spray tan specialist or balayage expert, don’t sleep on this hot holiday marketing tip.

Let’s jump in!

Why this one email is the perfect marketing tool to wrap up the year

Emails can be blah, or they can be so fun! It’s all about how you show up in them.

In this email, I encourage you to be a real person, and write the email as yourself, instead of standing in the image of your business. This is a great change to create community and foster a warm connection with your clients - especially those ones you haven’t heard from in a long time!

This email is also a super good “in” for those of you who haven’t been staying in touch with your email list. This is the perfect chance to “warm up” your email list again and set a positive tone for the year to come.

And why, specifically, should it be an email you send?

Emails get read over the holiday season - everyone is on their phone! So now is the time, and this is the way to get some extra holiday attention.

If done right, this email will definitely “gift” you a boost in revenue, whether that’s bookings for January, retail sales, or gift cards...this email will bless you!

Here’s what to write in your “end of year” email!

A quick intro to what they can expect - a bit of a catch up and best wishes for the holidays:

“Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! I know it’s been a while since I’ve gotten in touch but I’m bursting with joy and gratitude and wanted to send off a final “Thank You” and love bomb before the year ends!

I am so thankful for every single client, message, and follower on [IG/Facebook/Pinterest, etc].

I’m so lucky I get to do this job and I literally couldn’t do this without you!”

Share a few things that’ve happened this year:

“I’ve been thinking a lot about the crazy year 2023 has been. And how much I’ve achieved! I [opened a new suite/hired new staff members/launched a course/trained for a new certification, etc]

A personal message from your heart:

“My wish for you this Christmas and going into 2024 is that you find your own peace and rhythm, and spend some real quality time not just with friends or family, but with yourself! I’ll definitely be spending time thinking about all the great things that came to me in 2023, and my goals for 2024!”

Tell them how/when/why to book with you:

“Lastly, a few things about my business over the holidays!

I’m mostly booked up for the Christmas season. I have a few spots open that you can find on my calendar here.

I’m closed from x to x, where I’ll be spending the week curled up on the couch watching cheesy Netflix Christmas movies with my sisters, and baking cookies.

January appointments are pretty open! So if you’d like to refresh your hair and get a new look for the new year, be sure to book your appointment now!”

Plug holiday promos:

“I have some lovely stocking stuffer products for under $50 on my online shop, and they’ll ship out before Christmas! Check out my online shop and get some of my fave products here.”

A warm send-off:

“That’s it for now! I’m wishing you the warmest, coziest Christmas season ever. Again, thank you so much for your support and love this year. It means the world to me! I hope I’ll see you in 2024!”

Add a splash of holiday cheer and loads of your personality into this email...your clients will love it, and it will set your business up for success in the new year.

Don’t let the holidays go by without wishing your clients and your email list a happy season

If you have an email list, you know that you’re sitting on a goldmine of marketing opportunities - so don’t let 2023 end without sending out this very important “end of year” email!

Your clients will be so thrilled to hear from you, feel appreciated and seen, and they’ll be much more likely to book an appointment at your salon or hit up your online store (or whatever it is you ask them to do in your email!)

I know things this time of year are crazy - but it’s important to never forget what matters most: your connection and gratitude for your clients and community.

This one little email is like reaching out and saying, “Hey, I see you and appreciate you - and here’s how I’m showing it!”

Happy Holidays to you and yours,

Xo
